Superfood Quinoa bars with oatmeal and buckwheat Quinoa has been very hip among foodies and non-foodies for years. The seed is so popular that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations proclaimed 2013 the year of Quinoa! I have already seen so many delicious and different recipes with this seed that I think it is more than right that everyone loves it so much! Quinoa is sold in the colors black, red, yellow / white and brown (white can be found in the supermarket and black and red in the health food store) and is available in various forms such as raw, pre-cooked and (my favorite) puffed! Why has the Netherlands been crazy about Quinoa for a long time? I delved into this seed and found out that these grains are very healthy. They feed enormously and contain various minerals (such as copper and magnesium), fiber, proteins, iron and vitamins. Furthermore, it is not grain which makes Quinoa gluten-free and therefore perfect for people with celiac disease! We often eat Quinoa at home as a substitute for, for example, rice and barley, but did you know that with Quinoa you can make the most delicious healthy bars? So today a recipe for superfood Quinoa bars with oatmeal and buckwheat! Love, Sanne
