Preheat the oven to 345°F and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
Put all the ingredients in a food processor, except the chocolate chips.
Form balls from the dough by hand and press them flat on the baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle some almond shavings on the cookies.
Bake the cookies in about 15 minutes until golden brown and done.
Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving. They are very fragile when they are still a bit warm.
