Peel the red onion and the garlic. Remove the fresh parsley and basil leaves from the stalks.
Knead the herbs and spices through the ground beef and use the mixture to make meatballs.
Put all the ingredients for the sauce in a blender and blend into a coarse pesto.
Place the meatballs in the slowcooker and pour the sauce over them.
Switch the slow cooker on the low setting and leave the meatballs to cook for 31/2 hours.
TIP: This dish is delicious with zoodles.
