Preheat the oven to 340°F.
Heat the coconut oil in a frying pan and gently fry the chopped onion and garlic until they start to become fragrant.
Add the coriander seeds, cumin seeds and laos and fry briefly.
Now add the diced beef and scoop the pieces through the spice mixture in the pan until all of them are covered.
Pour water into the pan and also add the ginger root, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, salam and red peppers and mix well. Put the lid on the pan and let the dish cook in the oven for 4 hours.
Before serving, remove the ginger root, lemongrass, bay leaf and red peppers.
If desired, add a little salt to taste and garnish the dish with the Thai basil just before serving. Enjoy your meal!
