A meatza is a pizza but then with a ground beef crust. The first time I heard about it my reaction was "But that can't be nice?"But to be honest, it really is worth trying. A truly delicious recipe for your evening meal with a french green salad as a side.
Italian spices mix
Celtic sea salt
Black pepper (freshly ground)
Tomato cubes (can)
Tomato paste (can)
Red wine vinegar
Preheat the oven at 400°F and line a baking tray with baking parchment.
Snipper the onion and chop the pineapple slices into pieces.
Season the ground beef with the Italian herbs and salt and pepper to taste.
Knead the ground beef into two balls and press these onto the baking tray until you have two round discs approximately 1/2 inch thick.
Bake the pizza crusts for approximately 15 minutes in the preheated oven until cooked.
Set aside to cool and drain off any excess fat.
While the crusts are in the oven you can make the tomato sauce.
Melt the coconut oil in a saucepan and glaze the red onion.
Add the tomato cubes, tomato paste, vinegar, water, thyme and rosemary and leave to simmer, uncovered, until you have a thick sauce (approximately 10 minutes).
Divide the tomato sauce over the meatza, sprinkle with the oregano and scatter the pineapple pieces.
Bake the meatza again in the preheated oven or 10-15 minutes until the sides begin to turn brown.
Take out of the oven and serve.
