Peel the pears and cut out the cores. Then cut the flesh into pieces.
Put the pear in a pan together with the honey, lemon juice, water and anise.
Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and scrape out the vanilla seeds. Add the vanilla and two half sticks to the pears.
Let the pears simmer for 1 hour on low heat. Stir occasionally.
Take the vanilla pods from the pan.
In case there are still soms coarse pieces in the sauce, then puree it briefly in a blender.
